How we work

Structured delivery for systems that cannot be treated like a design experiment.

Infrastructure work affects users, applications, data and business continuity. Our delivery model makes scope, ownership, access, change, validation and handover visible from the beginning.

The delivery lifecycle

Understand. Establish. Agree. Plan. Implement. Document. Operate.

01

Understand the objective

Confirm the business reason, desired outcome, deadline, constraints, stakeholders and decision authority.

02

Establish the current state

Document the environment, dependencies, access, backup, monitoring, risks and known gaps.

03

Agree the target and scope

Define architecture, deliverables, responsibilities, exclusions, assumptions and acceptance criteria.

04

Plan change

Prepare tasks, test, communication, maintenance windows, validation, rollback and escalation.

05

Implement and validate

Execute controlled work, record results, investigate exceptions and obtain technical or business acceptance.

06

Document and hand over

Finalize architecture, configuration, procedures, open risks and ownership.

07

Operate and improve

Where contracted, monitor the environment, review performance and prioritize ongoing improvements.

Project governance

The right amount of process for the risk involved.

Small assignments should not be buried in administration, but production-impacting work needs visible control. Each engagement defines a delivery owner, client owner, communication cadence, decision process, issue path and acceptance method appropriate to the scope.

ControlStandard expectation
ScopeWritten deliverables, assumptions, exclusions and client dependencies
OwnershipNamed Hopp and client owners for technical and business decisions
AccessNamed accounts, least privilege, MFA and time-limited access where practical
ChangeApproved implementation and rollback steps for production-impacting work
CommunicationAgreed status cadence and immediate escalation for material risk or outage
ValidationDefined technical and business acceptance checks
DocumentationArchitecture, configuration, decisions, runbooks and handover
ClosureOpen-item review, access removal and final acceptance or service transition

Documentation standard

Documentation is part of the system.

An environment that only one person understands is an operational risk. The documentation package is scaled to the engagement but should make the architecture, decisions, recurring work, recovery and ownership understandable to the team that remains responsible.
  • iconCurrent-state and target-state diagrams.
  • iconConfiguration records and naming standards.
  • iconDecision log and documented exceptions.
  • iconImplementation, validation and rollback runbooks.
  • iconAccess and responsibility matrix.
  • iconBackup and recovery procedures where in scope.
  • iconKnown issues, dependencies and follow-up actions.
  • iconOperational handover and knowledge-transfer record.

Security

Secure remote administration.

Sensitive client administration is performed through approved access paths using named accounts, MFA and least privilege. For engagements with specific data-location or access requirements, Hopp can use controlled virtual workspaces and approved Swiss-based routing.

Collaboration

Working with other teams and providers.

Hopp Solutions can work directly for the client, own a defined infrastructure workstream or provide specialist capacity to an existing MSP or technology provider. Responsibilities, communication and client visibility are agreed before delivery begins.

What we expect from clients

  • A named decision-maker and technical contact.
  • Accurate access to available documentation and system owners.
  • Timely review of risks, assumptions and approvals.
  • Application or business users for acceptance testing where required.
  • Clear notification of policy, compliance and maintenance-window constraints.
  • A supported route for emergency communication during production work.

We will help turn them into a controlled delivery plan with visible responsibilities and acceptance criteria.
